Today, we rolled out a new submission page that will give you more freedom to submit your links, enrich them with appropriate keywords, and categorize them. You will also be able to select the thumbnail view of your submission with more precision.

These improvements are pretty straightforward in their implementation and the submission page features helpful tips for each required field. Charmants will also check that your submission is complete and deliver appropriate error messages if something is missing.

Aside from a few cosmetic changes, two important new features made it into this new release of Charmants.com.

The first is the submission page, now enhanced with useful tips on how to write proper titles and descriptions, complete with character counters!

The second is a new limit on the number of daily submissions for a single website. After careful review and testing, we concluded that 3 was the magic number that produced the best bang for each website, along with the best overall click-through rate on the homepage.

3 weeks ago we soft-launched a new section featuring adult content. We wanted boys who keep their shorts on to get their votes, and our content to be clearly divided: adult stories are not featured on the home page, but the Pink X story card leads to them. Charmants 2.0 is up at www.charmants.com :) We’re just waiting for the new DNS to propagate.

The Top 10 sites were relocated above recent comments, the Twitter and RSS feeds are now live… We’re currently watching over the server, and if we like the way this baby behaves, we will probably launch Charmants 2.0 later today :)

The new version just deployed contains new features on the moderation console (we’ll show some screenies of the process at a later date), ad server optimizations and green hearts (red usually means ‘no’ on Charmants) for all the sites in the new Top 10 list, as ranked by CeeJay.
